At the dawn of the 19th century, the BOVET brothers were already manufacturing pocket watches of smaller diameters especially for women. Although not unique for the time, the first collections developed specifically for women did not become widespread until the last quarter of this century.
Since that time, BOVET 1822 has continued to imagine, develop and manufacture timepieces specifically for women. To harmonize with various personalities and cultures, many unique pieces are released annually from the BOVET 1822 workshops.
To bring a new dimension to the customizations long offered by the House, BOVET recently partnered with Russian jewelry-enameller Ilgiz Fazulzyanov. Specialists designate him as the heir to some of the most illustrious enamellers in history such as Lissignol, Richter, Liotard or even Huaut. Many in this non-exhaustive list of artists who made their reputation as enamellers from Geneva also collaborated with the House of BOVET in the 19th century. Therefore, it is not surprising to discover the name of Ilgiz F. associated with BOVET 1822 for a collection of unique pieces worthy of perpetuating the enameling work of the most beautiful Bovet pocket watches of the 19th century.
For the women’s collection, Ilgiz F. and BOVET 1822 unveiled a series of dials in grand feu enamel, sometimes combined with sculptural settings inspired by nature and mainly featuring flowers. The definition of the details of the dial of the Amadeo® 39 Blue Thistles is stunning. Besides Ilgiz’s irreproachable mastery of the grand feu enamel technique, he is above all a talented artist who shows an incomparable virtuosity in the art of composition.
